BC Soccer has approved BC Coastal Soccer League Rules. We encourage all clubs staffs to review the 2026 BCCSL rules
Furthermore, all the updates/changes around aligning to the CSA’s Grassroots Standards for the game format are posted below.
The final changes to get the rules over the finish line are:
- U13 will play 2×40 minute halves
- U13 will play with a size 5 ball. Despite our efforts to advocate for a one-year transition allowing either a Size 4 or Size 5 ball to be used, BCSA has stated that our rules must have U13 playing with a size 5 ball and align to the Grassroots Standards, I’m sorry. Coming from the club environment and knowing that you’ve all placed your orders in October/November to guarantee a July/August delivery we fully understand the issues that some of you will experience as a result of this decision from BCSA. As such, the BCCSL will not hear any protests or complaints as it relates to ball size for the 2026-27 season. The table below, unless we’re told otherwise, is now complete.
